Bahadur Singh

Bahadur was born and raised in The Hague, where he still lives happily today. The city gives him everything within easy reach: Rotterdam and Amsterdam are close by, Delft is just around the corner, and the beach is nearby too. He started his studies in Finance & Control at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and continued with a pre-master’s and master’s in Finance at Tilburg University. He kept busy during his studies: he worked 32 hours a week as an operations manager at Ahold, where he made sure stores were stocked on time and efficiently, helped out at a rental company with loading and unloading, and single-handedly ran the invoicing and credit administration at an accounting firm.

Bahadur connected with Viisi through LinkedIn. It started with an introductory meeting at our office in The Hague with Hergen and Carlo, along with a shadow day with Anne, followed by a subject-matter interview in Amsterdam. Afterward, both sides were still enthusiastic, and that’s how Bahadur became a consultant at Viisi.

Outside of work, Bahadur wrestled competitively for years: he competed in matches and trained two to three times a week, each session an intense 2.5 hours. On weekends, he likes to meet up with friends, whether that’s climbing at a climbing park or renting a boat together for a cruise in the summer — the company is what matters most. He also loves to travel: even though he gets airsick, that doesn’t stop him. His most exotic trips took him to Mexico, the United States (New York), Nepal, and India — the country where his roots lie, in the Punjab region of northern India.

Fun fact: as a kid (from age six to twelve), he played chess competitively, and after winning school and regional championships, he even competed in the Dutch National Chess Championship!
